Pay Transparency Directive
Ensuring equal pay for equal work and preventing pay discrimination (Directive (EU) 2023/970).
1. What is Directive (EU) 2023/970?
The Pay Transparency Directive aims to combat the gender pay gap. It enforces pay transparency prior to employment and grants workers the right to request information on average pay levels.
2. Who is affected?
Companies with more than 100 employees are required to report on their gender pay gap. However, the right to equal pay and transparency applies to all workers regardless of company size.
3. Protection against Retaliation
The Directive explicitly states that workers who claim their rights or report pay discrimination are protected against dismissal or other adverse treatment (victimization).
